Airbnb Tests Earlier Payouts For Hosts :

Airbnb joins the collaborative community by providing a platform for online property rental services, that bridges the gap between host — who want to rent their home, guest- who wish to access the rental home. Airbnb calculates the interest of host in new payment option, letting them be partially paid off at the time of booking.

How Does It Work? :

Usually, Airbnb host is paid 24 hours after their guest’s scheduled check-in time. The new payout concept is to test host who has been invited and chosen will receive half the payment as cash after 3 days from the guest booked their stay. Another half will be received 24 hours after check-in. Airbnb will take 1% fee of the booking subtotals for early payouts.

The host can choose early payout s at any time by making some changes in “Payout Preferences”. If any booking is cancelled after an early payout that has been received, the amount will be deducted from the host’s next booking.

Airbnb categorized their hosts as “Professional Hosts” who has listed six or more on the Airbnb site. This new payout system aims at them and available for regular host.

This is not the first time for Airbnb on changing the payment system. This January Airbnb let guest pay half the amount upon booking, instead of the total amount in many cases.

Airbnb spokesperson says that “For decades, vacation rentals and professionally managed properties have been the backbone of the economy in vacation destinations like beach and ski towns and we welcome these types of listing in these types of communities” also added that “Trials like these are one way we work to support our community. In some places, usually urban destinations, there can be rules around hosting multiple listings. We always want Airbnb to be a positive force in local communities and we make it clear to hosts that they need to follow these rules.”
